The Ghost in the Machine 3
Etching
70cm x 70cm
Clare is interested in the cultural stories associated with technological change and works directly with redundant forms of coding technology such as textile jacquards, music box discs and IBM punch cards. The Ghost in the Machine 3 is part of a new body of work inspired by the archive at Sunny Bank Mills in Farsley, Leeds. The piece repurposes a nineteenth century music box disc into an etching plate and offers a reflective comment on the origins of computer technology.
